What is this course?

VeriSM™ Foundation describes how an organization can define its service management principles and then use organizational capabilities, emerging technologies and a combination of management practices to deliver value to its business and customers.

Why take it?

VeriSM™ aims not to launch a new framework, but aims to create a service management approach that can be the ‘glue’ needed to make best use of all of the different existing practices today.

VeriSM™ Foundation builds the fundamental skills and knowledge enabling individuals to participate in a service organization and to deliver value to the consumer.

Who should attend?

The certification is very useful for anyone who works with products and services and will be of particular interest to:

Graduates and undergraduates – who will be joining organizations and who need to understand the principles of service management.
Everyone within a service organization, in particular:
- Managers – who want to understand how to leverage evolving management practices; o Service owners and service managers – who need to bring their skills up to date and understand how service management has changed
- Executives – who are accountable for effective service delivery
- IT professionals - who need to understand the impact of evolving management practices and new technologies on their role.

Are there any prerequisites?

There are no specific pre-requisites for entry to the examination; however it is strongly recommended that candidates have good knowledge of IT Service Management terminology, for instance through a recognized IT Service Management framework.

What courseware is provided?

The course includes the VeriSM™ Foundation manual, the official VeriSM™ Foundation courseware book and extra reference material to prepare you for the exam.

What does it take to get certified?

The course is followed by a 60 minutes, 40 question multiple choice exam. The pass rate for the exam is 65% or 26/40.
