What is this course?

The Scrum Master course is a 2-day course that covers the principles and (empirical) process theory underpinning the mechanics, rules and roles of the Scrum framework. Advanced tools for servant-leadership are provided to increase a Scrum Master’s effectiveness. These tools relate to behavioral shifts, working with people and teams, coaching and facilitation techniques, and addressing the organization.

Students learn through instruction and team-based exercises, and are challenged to think in terms of the Scrum principles to better understand what to do when returning to the workplace.

Why take it?

Scrum theory includes time-boxing, and specific roles, rules, and artifacts. All elements of Scrum complement each other to form a consistent whole. All work is performed in Sprints. All base rules, events, and roles are described in the Scrum Guide, the acknowledged Scrum body of knowledge. Each part of Scrum ties back to the principles and theory.

This is foundational knowledge for every Scrum Team member and anyone involved with Scrum. Scrum Masters additionally know how to explain, teach, coach and facilitate the proper use of the Scrum framework. Scrum Masters assure the effective and consistent use of rules of Scrum, preventing them from falling apart.

The Scrum Master training is targeted to Scrum Masters and anyone else responsible for the successful use and/or rollout of Scrum.

Are there any prerequisites?

There are no prerequisites for this certification course.

What courseware is provided?

In this scrum training, each attendee is provided with printed course materials handbook and other reference documentation (eg. The Scrum Guide).

What does it take to get certified?

Participants who complete the two-day course will be required to take an online, 80-question, 60-minute, multiple choice, multiple Answer and true/false exam. To pass, 85% should be obtained. The scrum master certification exam is included in the course fee.

Upon passing the assessment you will be certified as a Scrum Master.
